Felor Nazari in Pantyhose in Europe

In the 1920s, the fashionable hemline for women rose enough to show the legs, and sheer hosiery that covered the legs was only available as stockings. They were first made of silk or rayon (then known as "artificial silk"), and after 1940 with nylon, which had been invented by DuPont in 1938. During the 1940s and 1950s, play and film producers were having stockings sewn to the briefs of their actresses and dancers, as testified to by actress-dancer Ann Miller.[1] These garments were seen in popular motion pictures such as Daddy Long Legs.

In 1953, Allen Gant, Sr., of Glen Raven Knitting Mills developed a commercial equivalent to these hose that he named "Panti-Legs", but these were not brought to the open market until about 1959.[2] During this time, Ernest G. Rice invented his own design for pantyhose (similar to those worn today), and in 1956 he submitted a patent titled "Combination Stockings and Panty".[3] This design was adopted by other makers, and this caused disputes in American courts for many years before the patent was upheld some time after Rice's own death.[4]

Up until this time, there was little reason for women outside show business to wear "panty hose". However, during the 1960s, improved textile manufacturing processes made them cheaper, spandex (or elastane) made them more comfortable, and the miniskirt made them a necessity to many women. In 1970, American sales of pantyhose exceeded stockings for the first time, and it has remained this way since then.[5]

The popularity of pantyhose grew into a wardrobe staple throughout the 1970s and 1980s. From 1995 a steady decline began, levelling off in 2006 with American sales less than half of what they had once been. This decline has been attributed to bare legs in fashion, changes inworkplace dress code, and the increased popularity of trousers.[6]

While sales of traditional styles did not recover, the 2000s saw the rise of other specific styles. Fishnet hose, patterns and colors, opaque tights, low-rise pantyhose, footless shapewear, and pantyhose for men all experienced increased sales.[7][8]

Fishnet pantyhose

Pantyhose generally have a standard construction: the top of the waist is a strong elastic; the part covering the hips and the buttocks (the panty area) is composed of a thicker material than for the legs. The gusset or crotch is a stronger material, sometimes made of porous cotton, but the legs of the pantyhose are made of the thinnest usable fabrics, and it has a consistent construction down to the wearer's toes. These can be reinforced to guard against wear and tear.

Most pantyhose are composed of nylon and a mixture of spandex, which provides the elasticity and form-fitting that is characteristic of modern pantyhose. The nylon fabric is somewhat prone to tearing ("running"), and it is common for very sheer hose to "run" soon after snagging on anything that is rough or sharp.

Variations in pantyhose construction exist, such as with fishnet pantyhose. Pantyhose may be composed of other materials such as silk, cotton, or wool.

Pantyhose are available in a wide range of popular styles. The sheerness of the garment, expressed as a numerical 'denier'/'dtex', ranges from three (extremely rare, very thin, barely visible) to 15 (standard sheer) up to 30 (semi opaque) until 100 (opaque). Examples of opaque tights showing mostly 40 denier opaque tights upwards. Control-top pantyhose, intended to boost a slimmer figure, has a reinforced panty. There may be visible panty lines when wearing high-cut skirts or shorts.

Sheer-to-waist pantyhose is sheer throughout, with the panty portion being the same thickness and color as the leg portion, and are designed for use with high-slit gowns, miniskirts, hot pants, or lingerie. Often sheer-to-waist pantyhose will be reinforced along and on either side of the seam in the middle of the panty.

Open-crotch pantyhose, sometimes known as crotchless pantyhose, do not have a gusset. Instead, an opening is in place for hygiene or sexual-fetishism activities.

Some pantyhose have single- or double-panel gussets incorporated into them. In single there are two seams instead of the usual one, with a single one on the opposite side; with double panel gussets, there are two seams on either side.

Health risks and benefits

Pantyhose present a number of health risks and some health benefits.
Because pantyhose are often tight thereby causing pressure on the opening of the urethra, and nylon is non-absorbent, they have been implicated as a contributing factor in urinary tract infections. Because of the risk of complications from UTIs, women who are prone to infections of the urinary tract, or who are pregnant, are often advised not to wear nylon pantyhose for long periods of time, only 100% cotton undergarments[9]
Like nylon underwear and other synthetic materials, wearing nylon pantyhose for long periods of time may trap bacteria and increase the temperature in the genital area, and can be the proximate cause or a contributing factor in the development of vaginal yeast infections(candidiasis) in wearers. Women who have experienced a yeast infection are counseled to wear undergarments of cotton or other natural fibers, and to avoid wearing synthetic undergarments.[10]
Bacterial vaginosis. Avoid clothing that can trap moisture: pantyhose (wear pantyhose with cotton crotch) or latex exercise clothing.[11]
It is not unusual for people dressed in layers of synthetic clothing to suffer from heat exhaustion in warm environments or while exercising or working. Because thick pantyhose may raise the temperature of the body, the elderly, menopausal women, and other wearers who have difficulties regulating body temperature because of underlying issues such as thyroid malfunctions may find the garment unbearably warm.
The warm, moist environment created by nylon pantyhose is a predictive factor in the development of fungal infections of the skin of susceptible wearers, particularly in the feet, abdomen and genital areas.[12] Preexisting fungal and allergic conditions, including eczema, athlete's foot, hives and rashes may be exacerbated by the wearing of pantyhose for long periods of time.

Preventing dryness. Because pantyhose are close to the skin, it is effective at trapping the natural oils and moisture of the skin. This is especially beneficial during colder months, when skin may dry out due to low humidity. However, this ability to retain moisture can be detrimental during the summer or in humid weather; sweat can be trapped in pantyhose, creating bad odors and chafing.
Warmth. Though usually made of thin fabric, pantyhose make the legs feel warm and lessen risk of frostbite, as they stimulate blood circulation in the skin, meaning that women do not have to sacrifice fashion for warmth when being outside for short times. This does not extend to longer periods in cold weather, however, as the same mechanisms increase risk for hypothermia.
Preventing varicose veins. Physician support that appropriate hosiery can help those who work on their feet, by preventing or helping varicose veins, and relieving pain in the back and legs by regulating blood circulation.
Pantyhose often prevent chafing between the wearer's feet and their shoes, or between the thighs when walking, thus helping the wearer avoid painful skin irritation such as blisters and heat rashes.
Improving appearance of skin. Many women wear pantyhose in order to reduce the appearance of stubble, blemishes, or pale legs. Because pantyhose comes in a large range of colors, most women can find one to match their skin tone or completely alter the color appearance of their legs in order to match an outfit. This allows women to wear short skirts and dresses without needing to shave, wax, tan or put on tanning spray.

Example of a "run" or "ladder"

Unlike cotton, nylon is not an absorbent material. As a result, perspiration is more likely to remain in contact with the feet, legs and genital area, thereby encouraging bacterial growth and associated odor. Some hosiery products contain silver to help to prevent odor and sweating of the feet, thus making the wearing of hosiery a more pleasant experience. Wearing natural fiber silk stockings and tights is another means of reducing perspiration.
Some people refuse to wear pantyhose for ethical or economic reasons. Pantyhose are prone to tearing or laddering.[6] They usually cannot be recycled, and they are not biodegradable. Disposing of the item contributes to overuse of landfill. Burning pantyhose sometimes releases toxins into the atmosphere.
Pantyhose have been criticized for being flimsy. The nylon fabric of pantyhose is extremely prone to "runs". The wearer can cause a run in the hose by even such simple movements as catching the toenail of one's big toe in the fabric when the hose is put on, by catching it on a rough desk, car, and by numerous other risks. Some women apply clear nail polish or hair spray to their hose to prevent runs from growing.

      Hayedeh biogrpahy

      H A Y E D E H
      (1942 - 1990)

Hayedeh, the legendary diva of Persia, was born in Tehran. Her career began as a singer on a Tehran radio program called Golhaye Rangarang (Colorful Flowers), directed by Davood Pirnia. She studied avaz (Persian Vocal Music) with the great Persian violinist and composer Ali Tajvidi. “Azadeh” (Music by Ali Tajvidi, Lyrics byRahi Moayeri) was Hayedeh’s first hit, performed on Radio Tehran with the Golha Orchestra in 1968. This outstanding work introduced Hayedeh’s vocal ability to Persians (Iranians) who warmly received it. “Azadeh” was released by Apolon Records (Directed by Manouchehr Bibiyan) in Tehran.

Beginning in the 1970s Hayedeh added pop music to her classical Persian repertoire. Throughout her career Hayedeh worked with many different composers such as Ali Tajvidi, Farid Zoland, Anoushiravan Rohani, Sadegh Nojuki, Andranik and Mohammad Heydari. Prominent lyricists she worked with included Esmaeel Navabe Safa, Bijan Taraghi, Leila Kasra (Hedieh), Homa Mir Afshar, and Ardalan Sarfaraz. Her works were released by Taraneh Records, Pars Video and Caltex Records, three California based Persian music companies.

In the summer of 1978, she emigrated to the United Kingdom, and went on to the United States in 1982 to continue her career. From 1982 until the end of her life, Hayedeh lived in Los Angeles near her sister, Mahasti, also a well known Persian singer. Hayedeh's career was bolstered in the 1980s by the growth of the Persian American community in Southern California due to the increasing number of Persians leaving Persia (Iran) to escape the fundamentalist government. Hayedeh’s political and nostalgic songs became very popular and loved in the Persian community, especially by those in exile.

During this time, Hayedeh regularly appeared in the Los Angeles based Jaam-e-Jam TV, which was established by Manouchehr Bibiyan and a few other Persian artists in exile. Hayedeh not only criticized Iran’s fundamental regime in some of her TV programs, but also recorded more than 40 music videos at Jaam-e Jam Studio, most of which were secretly distributed in her homeland.

Hayedeh traveled twice to London and gave two concerts with a large orchestra (conducted by Farnoush Behzad) at the Royal Albert Hall. She also appeared once at UCLA with a Persian instruments ensemble, led by Manouchehr Sadeghi.

Prof. Erik Nakhjavani writes about Hayedeh’s vocal style in Encyclopedia Iranica: “Analogues to Delkash, before her, Hayedeh sang with technical authority and passionate energy. Her laryngeal control made it possible for her to produce a series of graceful vibrato and glissando vocalizations required by the Avaz. She could smoothly pass from the upper reaches of her alto voice to the lower, fuller, and darker range of the contralto. This mixture of strong laryngeal strength and learned vocal technique gave her alto contralto voice a rare, powerful resonance and texture in the performance of the Avaz. Furthermore an acute sense for musical timing, the rhythmic flow of vocal music, affective musical phrasing, and poetic delivery enabled her to express and interpret effectively any songs she sang.”

Hayedeh died at the age of 47, from a heart attack, a few hours after a concert at the Casablanca Club in San Francisco, California. In the concert, Hayedeh performed most of her memorable songs for hundreds of Persian immigrants based in Northern California. Khosrow Motarjemi, a Persian IT expert in California, took a video which was never released. That night Hayedeh told people: “Life is like an express train... I am going to the House of God. Who knows what will happen in the future; I may not be alive tomorrow...” Then she performed one of her last songs, “Man Mikham Be Khoune ye Khoda Beram” (I want to go to the House of God). The song’s lyricist, Leila Kasra (Hedieh), died of cancer a few months before Hayedeh.

Hayedeh’s funeral was held in Los Angeles’ Westwood Cemetery, attended by thousands of Persians. The singer Vigen, Homa Sarshar (journalist), Hasan Shahbaz (Editor of Rahavard Quarterly), and Ghods Razavi (Head of the VOA Persian Service) were among those who gave a lecture during the ceremony.

After Hayedeh’s death, some Persian singers and musicians composed and performed pieces in her memory. Houshmand Aghili performed Hayedeh’s “Sarab,” Parviz Rahman Panah remixed her “Saal”, Shahla Sarshar performed a tragic song called “In Memory of Hayedeh,” and Mahasti performed three songs for her late sister Hayedeh.

Hayedeh married 3 times and left three children: Kamran, Keyvan and Noushin, all of whom live in the USA.

      Afsaneh Pakroo (1983)

Afsaneh Pakroo was born in Tehran and earned as BA in Graphic Design. She learned acting at the Samandarian School and debuted with the movie “Sentenced to Heaven”.

She then appeared in the films “The Way of Love” and “Milk and Honey” and the drama “On the Way to Zayandeh Rood”.

Nazee Abbassi: Self-Portraits of the East and West

Yes, you're seeing double, but that's because that's what the photographer intended. With the week's theme on self-portraits, it would be a nice touch to end it with a more personal look at the method and process. In this case, photographer Nazee Abbassi shows her take on her own identity as she photographs herself for aself-study, in effect giving viewers a glimpse of her self-portraits of the East and West.

Nazee Abbassi became internet famous a few weeks ago due to her thought-provoking pictures and is now somewhat known as the Iranian girl with self-portraits of her Iranian and American selves.
She explains that, "This project is a series of self portraits exploring who I am, both as an American and as an Iranian, through photographs. It has always been a struggle for me to explain myself, who I truly am, and how I should or shouldn’t act in given situations. I feel that maybe these photographs will answer some questions. Questions people might have, or even questions I have for myself as a person who has lived with two cultures her whole life. Sometimes I feel confused, proud, and sometimes even awkward about how to simply deal with the differences of the two parts that make me."

While there are obvious differences in her Iranian and American personas, the collection succeeds in bringing out some subtle distinctions apart from her attire. Take for example the picture of Abbassi in her car; her Iranian self sits in the back seat while her American self is in the driver's seat. In another image, the American character toasts with what looks like champagne while the Iranian character prefers soda. These small but powerful differences make these photographs into real portraits.

Contrary to what you might think at first, the differences presented in the images don't break-up her identity but instead makes them clearer for the viewer. While portrait photography strives to capture the real essence of the subject, even the best portraits can't contain the subject's whole self, only an image of the person at the split-second the shutter is pressed.

In Abbassi's case, her different personas captured in one frame helps viewers see her true self.

Nazee Abbassi's self-portraits of her East and West can be found on her blog. The full set of her self-studiesare here. And while on the topic of Iranian women, check out this fanciful look at some Iranian teenage girls' fashion choices as photographed by Shirin Aliabadi over here.

      Women Fitness club in Iran

The only muscles that tighten and melts fat away from the muscle breakdown prevention and coherent format, sturdy and super girly style is unique and coherent
Exercise fitness is today one of the world's most popular sport and a lot of men are interested in the sport. According to the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness currently the world's greatest athletes, then martial arts is dedicated to the great extent in the South East Asia and the second and third have at their disposal football.

But the major question that often arises for women is:
      1) Does the fitness exercise is good for men is good for women?
      2) If the women to engage in physical fitness, muscle breakdown and elegance in a word are men, women are they affected?
      3) Is the safety of sports physiology and Natvmtyk not for women?
The first question I have to say out of the philosophy of sport and the honor of the championships and won the hearts of both men and women having limbs, burning excess body fat, physical abilities desirable in times of crisis and specific physical skills, relying on the exercises frequent. It must be said that sports fitness is above the full guarantee offers its athletes. In addition to fast and light exercise to burn excess body fat, your body perfectly harmonious and in addition it gives you the confidence and authority of the extraordinary you can make it all at the different levels Fitness see.
So according to my inactivity on Women bodybuilding society is governed not only benefit them but to them it is essential. Statistics terrible osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ...
Iranian women support the fact that a dangerous epidemic caused by lack of exercise are common among women is the only way it greater mobility in the form of exercise, such as the aerobic Weightstack.
In addition to fitness for a girl or woman is an undeniable advantage that can not be denied that the second question, I must say that bodybuilding is not only a woman's body does not to the body will more formatted Girls .
Women mistakenly think that female bodybuilders take steroids heroes who have bodies, manly and tough, but the fact is that all the models in the world of Hollywood actresses and female singers as they desire to fit world's leading body any woman can , Fitness and aerobic routines themselves are placed on top. But this would scientifically prove it to you.
Muscular male body is due to the amount of testosterone in their bodies as much as intense physical exercise increases the production of this hormone in their bodies increased secretion rate and result in their bodies and more violent than Muscle is the body's hormone levels Male Ultra low and increased physical activity does not have a special effect on the secretion rate of the hormone in the body. As a result, the tablets or feed material containing Tststrn not eat {like a professional bodybuilder women are doing something that is injected into the body} Tststrn we will not be's see the body Format:
Effects on muscle fitness and melt fat away women only tighten your muscles, which prevents muscle breakdown and format consistent, firm and steel super-girly and integrated to the individual.
Regarding the third question, I should say precisely the question posed for the men's and sports programming, and nutrition and fitness is one of the most important points that should pay attention to be specialized.
As always, I recommend a consultation with a qualified fitness trainers and nutritionists that if you wish to come under the coordination of the best coaches in the gym you through the site, Iranian Weightstack food programs Agency,'s by sport supplement Get the best bodybuilding world is written
